Songkran. Water Festival Thailand 06
Today, 13 of April, is New Year in Thailand. I'm still finding out was was the big event that happened 2550 years ago for them to start counting on that date. For sure it has some relation with Buddah, maybe his birth... but I'll find out.
Well, the way to celebrate it is by throwing water to everyone you meet around in order to wish him/her luck and wash your bad vibes.
Some history:
Songkran is a Thai traditional New Year which starts on April 13 every year and lasts for 3 days. Songkran is a Thai word which means "move" or "change place" as it is the day when the sun changes its position in the zodiac. It is also known as the "Water Festival" as people believe that water will wash away bad luck.
