The little "This"
"This" at Claudio's house, touching a piano for the first time in his life during our "latin rehearsal".
This is "This" (that's his name in vietnamese, it's pronunced "Tis"). He is a 12 years old boy that was brought to the city by Louise (Lucas girflriend). He comes from Kon Tum, a poor rural zone of Vietnam where Louise is doing voluntary work to help the comunity and and orphanage. His left arm is totally out of function from an accident when he was a baby. They brought him to the city to see if it was possible to do an operation.
The beautiful thing is that this boy had so many experiences "for the first time" in his life during that time in Ho Chi Minh City. First time in a car, in a electrical stairs, in a house (city house), with a piano, in the city, in a store... he couldn't fit in himself looking around and smiling all the time, and trusting "this" people who took him away for a while from home. If you want to see where he comes from, check out the web site of Lucas, where you can read the stories (in spanish) and see the pictures, that are very beautiful.
With his simplicity he made us reflect and see to ourselves, to all we take for granted in life. To set up a scale of priorities totally different from other people in the world. Not that they have to be the same, but it's interesting to see how different they can be.
