Thought of the day

I read this recently and thought it deserves to come to live with us in our blog.

"Life is not measured by the quantity of breaths you take, but by the quantity of moments that took your breath away."

Opa Staf & Noma Sonia in BKK

Here are they!!!

The grand parents all the way from Belgium. They spent three weeks with us and went to Koh Chang as well.

They saw two shows "Honk" (The ugly duckling -pictures to come) and "101 Dalmatians" from which they stole two of the puppies as you can see.

And a big highlight of the visit: the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Opa Staf and Noma Sonia. We went to the 64th floor of the State Tower to the restaurant Breeze and the bar Sirocco to celebrate it. It was a beautiful night with a great food and service.

Important: They were never taken to the hospital while here (like other visitors). So, don't be afraid, you can still visit us!!

...And the BOB goes to...

Yes, we're talking about the BCT version of The Oscars, with the tiny different that you wouldn't feel that proud if you get nominated for it and even less if you actually win one.

Well, I was one of the lucky ones for one of the productions from last year. And to say the truth... I feel happy and proud of it.

Check the whole story behind it and all other nominations and winners at the BCT page . My category was the 7th one.

PS. Important to notice the tie. It was a gift from my comadre Ana y José Alberto and everybody asked me about it.

Warmth and Truth

I just got this thought in my inbox today and it gave me my dose of growth for the day. Hope it does for you too.
Ro.-

“Thai communication and interaction can be easily summed up in one word: warmth. Thais do not tell the truth and they do not seek the truth for it is not relevant to the speaker or the listener. Communication and interaction between Thai people is not about advancing knowledge and understanding...it is about sharing that fuzzy feeling called warmth. Thai people couldn't care less if they are listening to a lie so long as they are feeling warm. In fact they laugh at farangs' constant quest to find the truth. In Thailand seeking the truth is a futile pursuit.”

FARANG is the thai word for foreigner. We are farangs here and so would be you if you're not thai.
